If your a begginer and you are taking the msf class for motorcycles would a suzuki gsrx 600r be good for me?

im a big guy im 6'2 and 230 pounds. would a suzuki gsrx 600r be good for me|||ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! A GSXR is an organ donation waiting to happen in the hands of a novice rider.

The very best thing you can learn on is a cruiser or small tourer with a displacement of 500cc - 800cc.

There is a plethora of reasons that make a GSXR is a terrible choice for a learner's bike, but by far the biggest one is that the temptation to do incredibly stupid things on a sportbike is far too great. The GSXR is two double-handfuls of bike with endless supplies of intoxicating power and acceleration on tap. As a novice, without the ability to handle--or more importantly, *respect* that power, you can quickly find yourself in deep trouble faster than you can blink your eye. Literally.

Buy the GSXR after three years or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. Before that, learn to ride and how to handle a bike properly.|||a 600 will be fine to learn on, alot of people learn on a 250 like a ninja. i am a big guy to and i always felt the 600 was kinda small for me i learned how to ride on a gsxr1000 with the mentality that if i could learn on that i can ride anything, and it was true. but its whatever you feel somfortable on, but your gonna cramp on longer rides because of the sitting position on the 600 being a bigger guy. go to a dealer and just sit on some to see what you like. the 600 is more than enough power if that was your question, i have seen 300lb guys riding 600's and going pretty fast. i think the thing you are gonna have the most problem with is seat position.|||basically, a good rule for a beginner rider. "if you can't pick up the bike, it's too big" I mean pick it up from lying on it's side, not wip it up onto your shoulder. And, by picking it up, I mean while stradling it, not having to stand off to the side and blow a nut picking it up. That all depends on you. From the sounds of it you shouldn't have a prob standing up a 500 lb bike. good luck. Keep two things in mind while riding. #1 no one sees you at all, so be aware of every cross street and driveway,ect..."you'll see, believe me! #2 there's only two types of folks who ride bikes, those that have been down, and those that haven't, yet. It hurts. Some one will pull out infront of you, or you'll be stupid on tight corner. We've all done it. Good luck and be carefull.|||i dont think that u have anything to worry about. i just learned to ride on a yamaha r6s and i am only 5'3'' and weigh about 110. if i can do it, so can you. dont be intimidated by the bike. i would agree with dude about being able to lift it if u fall and being able to push it along without the motor on. good luck!!

its the best feeling in the world!!!!|||I would wait until after you take the MSF course. They have 250s for you to practice on, and after you're done you can test out bikes to see what will work for you.|||i wouldnt start on a super sport bike. probably a parallel twin sport bike until you get a good feel for it
