Are aprilia motorcycles any good?compared with yamaha and suzuki, the aprilia is a more expensive bike?

aprilia are they a good quality reliable make compared with yamaha and suzuki?|||Mrs Mark L has an Aprilia Tuono Factory R. She takes it to the dealer and pays for the services.

Mr Mark L is a motorcycle mechanic and rides an old Honda CB1100F.

Her bike doesn't break either.|||Absolutely. The engine, a rotax, is produced in Austria (KTM uses the same make powerplant) and is time-proven; and the styling and handling is pure Italian. Even though they dropped out of MotoGP in 2004, they coming back to it in the near future.

Comparing a UJM (ubiquitous Japanese machine) to an Aprilia is like comparing a UJM to a Ducati: Just how exactly can you even put them in the same arena? The Japanese have been producing machines that are as reliable -- and as interesting -- as Swiss clockwork; the Italians have been producing racing machines for much, much longer.

Are they more expensive? Yes, as Porsches, Alfa Romeos, and Jaguars are than Toyotas, Hondas, and Nissans. Of course, for some people the comparison is unfavorable despite the advantage in reliability hald by the Asians.|||I have owned three Aprilia's An RSV1000, RSV1000R factory and a falco.

I ride all year in all weathers and the Aprilia's took the punishment better than any japanese bike I have owned. the fit and finish stayed good and reliability just wasn't an issue at all.

The Aprilia's also look far sexier than any Jap bike ....they all pretty much copy each other. It was a bit like parking a Lamborghini in a car park full of dull Mondeo's.

Fantastic bikes to ride and far less tiring to make good progress on compared to a jap 4 cylinder. The Aprilias were also brilliant in the wet thanks to V Twin power which helps the tyres grip better ( they have time to recover between power pulses)

The triple headlights on the older models are phenomenal.

The wiring looms on Aprilia's were made by the same company that made Suzuki's and ALL bikes from ALL manufacturers have the potential for problems, its often owner ignorance or neglect that promotes problems not a badly built bike.

Rotax make aircraft engines so they do know what they are doing.|||if you are going to have an aprilla serviced regular and look after it they are very good. they did have a bad rep of dodgy electrics but over the past 5 years that seems to have been taken care off.

if you are like me n thrash it n only do half hearted service / maintenance then go for jap - suzuki/ kawazaki are my favs |||Italian bikes tend to be dearer than jap bikes as they don't sell as many because they don't have a very good rep for reliability. Jap bikes are always reliable with the exception af the odd kawasaki which are okay by comparison. Still more reliable than aprilia though|||Yes, they are. Yamaha's and Suzuki's are also very reliable. Some people prefer the feel and torque of twin-cylinder Italian motorcycles vs four-cylinder Japanese bikes. |||a jap bike is gonna be able to take more abuse in it's stride, but if your gonna take good care of it an aprillia would be a good choice|||ive worked on quite a few...AF1's/SP's etc...only downfall,i think anyways,is the plastic gogs that drive the oil pumps...they can fail....in a yamaha man myself.||| It is better than the jap play race bikes |||size for size they are probably better.
