"what do the engine numbers mean on a suzuki motorcycle?|||Every Engine has a "production code" almost all manufacturers take advantage of this. So if you call Suzuki, or any decent Suzuki mechanic, they should know (for your type of engine), what displacement it is, what type head it is, sometimes what year it was made, etc etc etc.

this helps your order the correct part as small things evolve year over year.

For example, a throttle body may be different for a GSXR 600 from 2002 model to 2003 model, and a Suzuki 600 motor from a Katana could also be a totally different part as well.

to make all this explanation short, its so you can get the correct parts/ service when you need them.

hope this helps!|||the engine # is so that the police could look at the pink slip for the bike and the engine # will match the # on the pink slip|||normally the first few[somtimes letters] are the model code or number..the rest coraspond the the frame number..sometimes they match other times they dont
