Where the older Suzuki Motorcycles good bikes? Late 70's, early 80's?

gs550e was crap|||The shaft drive GS 850 was a superb bike. The shaft drive GS 1000 was decent, the chain drive GS1100 was a very hot bike with a very tough engine. The weak point on them was the charging system. They'd fry the stator and take the regulator, bulbs and other goodies along with it.|||Yes they were and stil are very good bikes. Decent bike but it had an insufficient electrical system.|||for their time, yes they were alright. I still prefer the older Harley's.|||'79 GS 425L was a nimble ride.
